Nick Flynn nació en 1960 en Scituate, Massachusetts, y ha publicado Blind Hubbern, A Note Slipped Under the Door y Some Ether, que ganó el Pen/Joyce Osterweil Award. Ha escrito en The New Yorker, The Nation, The New York Times Review of Books y The Paris Review. En la actualidad es profesor en la Universidad de Houston y vive en Nueva York.
